The Alchemy unleash new single “Pushing Up Daisies”
A high-energy statement of resilience from the Canterbury power trio
Canterbury’s The Alchemy return with “Pushing Up Daisies” — a hook-heavy, guitar-driven anthem, written in the thick of burnout and delivered with the band’s trademark punch. Big choruses, tight dynamics and a driving pulse, frame a song about stubborn resilience: showing up, doing the work, and staying present when it counts.
“We wrote Pushing Up Daisies in the thick of burnout. It’s got a stubborn, resilient streak — show up, do the work, drive through it. That mindset won’t guarantee longevity, but it sure as shit keeps you present,” the band say. “It’s nice — as Overthinking nearly broke our brains, Pushing Up Daisies just arrived. It jumped out like, ‘here we go.’”
The Band & Achievements
Formed in 2015, The Alchemy are a fiercely independent three-piece from Canterbury, UK. True to their DIY ethos, the trio built their own recording studio inside a disused mushroom farm, piecing it together from scrap materials and turning it into a creative HQ where they write, record and refine everything on their own terms. That ingenuity extends to visuals: frontman Rhys Davis leads the media output, filming and editing the band’s videos and photography, giving the project a cohesive look as bold as the music. Having re secured their debut album masters, they are now a truly independent creative powerhouse.
Onstage, The Alchemy’s shows are high-energy and guitar-first — a lean power-trio performance amplified by a custom, pre-programmed lighting rig that transforms rooms into full-scale moments. Over eight years of touring, they’ve stacked eight consecutive sold-out hometown shows, multiple headline runs across the UK, and key supports with I Am Giant, The Intersphere and Mallory Knox. In May 2025 they played The Great Escape (Brighton), and next appear at PRO Weekend in Castellón, Spain (14–16 October 2025) — their first European festival. On air, the band have earned support from BBC Introducing, Kerrang! Radio, Planet Rock Radio and many more.
What’s Next
With “Pushing Up Daisies” out now, The Alchemy are gearing up for a milestone year: 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of their first release, to be celebrated with a special show and further surprises in store. They may be marking a major milestone but there is plenty more to come from this ambitious trio!
